Full Label Migration Guide

Your complete guide to the label migration: what's changing, what to do, and how to prevent fulfillment disruptions.

Written by Alina

We've recently announced updates to all product labels. Every label needs to be migrated to the new format, which introduces bleed and safe areas, plus a placeholder for the matrix code that warehouse scanners rely on. For a full breakdown of what's changing, check out this article.

In this guide, you'll learn how to migrate your existing labels with the AI migration tool — and what to expect for your orders along the way.

Key dates

June 18 - The migration period begins, and the AI migration tool becomes available. Orders continue to be fulfilled using your existing (v1) labels.

July 1 - Fulfillment of products with v1 labels is discontinued. You can still migrate your remaining labels to the new (v2 format) at any time.

AI Label Migration Costs

If you are a paid member, you get 3 free label migrations included. On top of that, if you've ever purchased our Label Design service, you'll receive 1 free migration for every label we designed for you.

Once you purchase a membership, your free migrations will be added to your account automatically — no action needed.

If you cancel your membership, your free migrations remain available until the end of your current billing cycle. Once the billing cycle ends, any unused free migrations will be automatically removed from your account.

Once you run out of free migrations, each new label migration will cost $1.99.

How to migrate labels to the new version

Here's a step-by-step guide on how to migrate your old (v1) labels to the new (v2) label version using the AI tool.

THE AUTO-MIGRATION TOOL IS POWERED BY ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE. SUPLIFUL DOES NOT WARRANT THAT THE OUTPUT GENERATED BY THE TOOL WILL BE ACCURATE, COMPLETE, ERROR-FREE, OR COMPLIANT WITH ANY APPLICABLE LAW OR REGULATION. Learn more.

  1. Find products that need migration

When you log in, you'll see a notification prompting you to update your labels. Click it to open the Label Migration page, which lists all your products that still need to be migrated.

  2. Run the compatibility check

Select one or more products and click Check compatibility. Please allow some time for the check to be completed.

Note: The scan tool is free to use and is available along with the migration tool to paid members only. If you wish to use the tools, please activate a membership plan.

Products you've sold in the last 30 days are automatically pre-scanned, so you can act on them straight away.

  3. Migrate your labels

Once the check is done, the products will be moved to the Migrate label tab.

After scanning each label, the tool assigns a compatibility level:

    • High - Label can be migrated automatically with no issues expected or minimal changes.

    • Medium - Migration is possible, but minor issues (such as overlapping text) may appear. A disclaimer is shown before you proceed.

    • Low - Automatic migration is not available. You'll need to redesign or upload your own label. Learn more about it here.

You'll also receive a full breakdown of what migrates seamlessly and what may look different afterward.

    Examples:

Select the products you wish to migrate and click Migrate Labels. In a pop-up, you will see the pricing breakdown for each label.

By default, we will first deduct the free migrations, then Supliful credits (if applicable), and only then charge your card.

  4. Review and save your migrated label

After migration, your label enters a review phase.

Select the product you wish to review and click Review in editor.

You will be taken to the new Label Designer, where you will be able to review the label and make any adjustments if needed. Once you are ready to confirm the migrated label, simply click the Save label button in the top right corner.

What if I don't want to use the AI migration tool?

That's fine - if you don't like the final result of the AI migration tool, or you want to recreate the labels on your own, you can skip it entirely and create or upload your own design directly in the Label Designer. Make sure your label includes the required bleed area, safe area, and matrix code placeholder. You can learn more about it here.

Once saved, exit the designer, and the product mockups will be automatically regenerated, reflecting the changes.

Common migration issues

As mentioned, this is an AI tool, so it isn't perfect. Below are the most common issues you might encounter during migration, along with easy solutions for some of them.

Label size smaller than the template

In cases where the label size changes, you may notice a checkered pattern along the edges of the template. This is easily fixed by enlarging the design and adjusting its position:

Certain design elements become fixed after migration

As part of the migration process, some design elements - such as badges, shapes, and other components - are combined into a single layer. This means they can't be adjusted individually once your label has been moved to the new version.

Custom fonts aren't carried over during migration

Fonts from your original label design are not transferred to the new version. You can upload your fonts directly in the label designer and reapply them to your design.
